DIAMONDBACK FITNESS FORECASTS STRONG HOLIDAY BUYING; ANNOUNCES NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPEMENT MANAGER
Kent, WA – October 2, 2008 –.Diamondback Fitness (www.diamondbackfitness) recently launched its 2009 product line to the Independent Fitness Dealers (IFD) sales channel with unanimous acceptance. Its strong consumer brand recognition combined with a streamlined focus on high quality exercise bikes and ellipticals, with many priced under $1,000, is leading the company to project robust holiday sales despite the downturned economy. Additionally, Diamondback Fitness announces the appointment of industry veteran Skip Reys to the position of Manager of Product Development.
“At a time when many companies are downsizing, we are fortunate to have our all-new product line meet with great dealer acceptance, and to bring Skip Reys onto our team,” said Brian Davidson, Director of Global Sales. “Given the added strength of parent company Raleigh America, we now have the flexibility to be investing in the infrastructure of our operations, product development and customer support services. We have one of the best manufacturing models that I have seen in the fitness industry and, as a leading supplier in the specialty bicycle business, we now have the product development, sourcing, logistics, and system management to usher in a new era of growth for Diamondback Fitness.”
Industry veteran Skip Reys is newly onboard as Manager of Product Development to lead the charge to continue to deliver “Best in Class” products to the Independent Fitness Dealers (IFD) sales channel. Reys brings 15 years of fitness and sporting goods product development and management experience to Diamondback Fitness. His career includes previous positions with Raleigh America, as well as K2 Bicycles and Precor Inc.,
”Skip has already built tremendous relationships with our factories and will bring a new level of professionalism, expertise and customer-focused product development to Diamondback Fitness. We’re thrilled to have him onboard.” said Davidson.
Davidson is looking forward to a successful holiday buying season for Diamondback Fitness. “With the tough retail environment we are all working in, Diamondback Fitness is one of the few recognized consumer brands in our industry. Many dealers have commented that the 2009 products are the best they have ever seen from Diamondback Fitness, delivering great consumer value at comfortable price points,” said Davidson. “There has been a lot of work happening quietly behind the scenes at Diamondback Fitness. It is gratifying to see the very positive response our dealers have given us.”
The 2009 Diamondback Fitness exercise bike and elliptical product line features a distinctive new styling and look reminiscent of the legendary 30-year Diamondback bicycles brand. Davidson comments that the company’s focused efforts help provide dealers with products at industry-leading margins, and “best in class” upright and recumbent bikes under $1,000 that consumers can afford as they watch their spending during the upcoming holiday season.
Diamondback Fitness completed its company transition to its Kent, Washington headquarters near Seattle, in September 2008 and is now fully operational out of its new headquarters.
